You have no 'personal' space. No matter how large a room is, it becomes suffocatingly small once he arrives. Your domain is his as soon as he's either caught casually on your couch or just entering your home. He physically powers over you in any aspect so getting him to leave is both a chore and a nightmare.

He'll tease about your lack of hospitality/hostility towards him. Any attempt to harm him, verbal or physical, is met with amused indifference since he sees little reason to take anything you say seriously. Is there a chance you'll hold to your words? Yes, but at the moment that chance is slim to none.

I saw a post on here once that said Slade is the asshole friend where he'll force you to do activities you don't want to do (sfw) and I agree. I personally think Slade gets some satisfaction in seeing you loathing whatever activity he dragged you to; that being said, he isn't unreasonable. For instance, he'll claim that he wants to go somewhere else and that 2nd destination can be your home or a place you actually wanted to go to.

That same person also stated that Slade would in fact care for your opinion on certain subjects. And he would; he just doesn't tell you why he asked since he ignores your opinions a good portion of the time. As emotionally stunted/unavailable as he is due to his background as both a merc and a soldier, Slade would make an effort to get some level of friendliness from you. After all, friends like each other, right?

He's done so many things for you without you asking that he can't fathom why you would be upset at his actions. Like, the person that catcalled you has not only their entire lineage erased but their tongue removed: why are you mortified? Did he say too many details? Or the time where he framed your landlord/lady for shady business in order for them to lower the rent costs to stay afloat on the market. You got cheap rent now, don't you? Instead of pointing fingers, shouldn't you thank him for being such a good friend? How many other 'buddies' of yours go above and beyond like this for you?

Looping back to the first point, anything you try hiding from him can and will be found out. Digitally or not, in order to have secrets with Slade, it would mean to quite literally keep them in your head. No journals/diaries, no blogs, nothing. He'll bide time if he suspects something; otherwise, Slade has no problem confronting you should he have 'enough' evidence to so. He makes a vague comment about whatever it is you tried hiding that does not go further. Blackmail is unnecessary to him. Slade isn't one to joke, and you have no reason to doubt him.

Wealth is another thing he has abundance of. Moving? He'll buy the apartment complex or just cancel the offer for the house you intend to buy for you. Traveling for work? No worry whatsoever; he redirects where you're staying to a better hotel than what your company originally had planned. You'll feel watched at both day and night, though this lessens somewhat once in the hotel room. And you'll indirectly thank Slade for that as he not only scoped out the room itself but also the hotel to ensure it was up to his standards.

Should you ever get kidnapped in the chance that an enemy of Slade figured out you hold a special place in the merc's frozen heart, he surprisingly does not cope well. He does for almost 2 weeks, but beyond that the longer you're gone and he can't get your location has him feeling some type of way. The merc can't pinpoint what this feeling is for once but he guesses it'll pass once he finds you and it does. He'll kill or severely hurt the assailants, take you back to your home and will drug you. Clearly he was slacking; that's the only explanation and the only solution is to put not one but 2 trackers inside you in the instance you're kidnapped again and a tracker is somehow removed.

When you wake, he'll lie through his teeth saying you passed out from stress/trauma/fatigue and will continue that lie until you ever figure it out. After this he refuses to make a rookie mistake like this again.

Secondly, for a neglected! Reader plot,(or maybe a one-shot, whatever you feel like writing) what do you think about magical girl! Reader? Like, there's this pink (or any other color) teenage girl/boy in gotham that fights some type of not really scary monster (maybe those from precure, as they don't look that frightening) with glitter and hearts and cute stuff and then the batfam is just flabbergasted because why?? Are they?? So cute?? And they become yandere because they just think reader is so so adorable and innocent

And maybe gotham villains have a soft spot for reader becuase they saved them for the monster thingys

And now reader has to deal with all the most powerful entities in gotham being obsessed over them

And IF it is a neglected! Reader they have to deal with the pain of being adored by the batfam as their magical girl persona, but not as their real self

Hi! I love hearing from you again!!! I'm doing good, I just watched the Deadpool and Wolverine movie and it's taken a grip on me 😩

I love that idea for the plot! I was hoping to do a magical girl reader because my FYP on both Tiktok AND Tumblr has been magical girl batfam and I just finished watching Sailor Moon last night.

I'd love to incorporate that into the plot (as well as make a separate one-shot of it in a different instance).

I for sure think that the Batfam would have the mindset of "oh, they're dressed up in cute, bright colours and is fighting non-frightening monsters. That must mean they're an innocent teen playing dress up and doesn't actually know the truth about the real world"

Whether it's true or not is up to you to decide for now but I personally think that Reader would be in the middle, aware of the world around them but oblivious to how it affects themselves - or completely different then that, Reader would be completely aware of the world and struggles in real life but fights as a magical girl + with a smile on her face so she can give others hope.

For the villains I think for sure that the ones who have a proper soft spot (eg. Wouldn't get Reader involved in crimes, would work to protect Reader) would be Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Riddler, Two-Face and Penguin.

For the villains that will let Reader get into trouble so they can save them I think it would be Bane, Catwoman, Clayface and Killer Croc. (Possibly Mad Hatter).

For the villains who would purposefully incorporate Reader into their schemes I think the main ones would be Joker, Hugo Strange and Scarecrow (for two different reasons however).

For Joker he'd see it more so as a bonding experience, a way to "hang out" and "catch up". Even if the Reader is held hostage, in the middle of the battle field, etc.

For Scarecrow I think it would come moreso from a sense of morbid curiosity. How far will Reader go to help people? How does their mind work? How will they react to Fear Gas? What is their fear?

I'd definitely think Harley would love the outfit and Mad Hatter would start to think of you as Alice with your colourful get-up.

If we're talking Batman villains who aren't in Gotham (Talia, Ra, Deadshot, Deathstroke) then I feel it would be a different kind of attachment.

It would be more like "what is this colourful child doing in such a dark place?" (Even if you are already in your adult years).

Talia and Ra would see Reader as someone to train, Reader has great strength to wield and if Talia/Ra can train them then Reader will be a great asset.

The difference between the two would be that Talia grows attached in a nurturing way while Ra grows attached in a condescending way.

Eg.

Talia would think of Reader as a child for her to protect

Ra would think of Reader as a lamb that will be slaughtered without him.

Deadshot has his own kid, he doesn't care much for another until seeing Reader hurt/sad. Reader would be a substitute for Deadshot's daughter while she's with her mother.

Deathstroke, I really don't like him (sorry if you do, he just makes me feel icky), but I feel he'd have a mix between Talia's headspace and Ra's headspace.

"Reader can't survive without me guiding them. Reader needs a father to help them grow" it doesn't matter if you have a dad, he won't compare to Deathstroke. If it's such a big deal for Reader Deathstroke will just remove Reader's father from the picture.

Yandere batfam and villains with a complete arsenalmagical girl reader

(Hello you guys! Sorry I haven’t written anything in a while I didn’t have any idea until now)

(But I will try and do more stories)

(Now on to the HCs)

(The reader is 18 years old (reader ages slowly) and was born with natural pink hair and pink eyes and is from a kind and humble family (a rare thing in Gotham)

(The reader hides her face with a cloak when she is not in her magical girl persona and has a animal companion like a small dog that talks to her and keeps her identity hidden with magic since reader is extremely shy of other people but still saves others before making a quick escape)

Personally I think that everyone hero and villains inside or outside of Gotham would be flabbergasted and surprised that there is a pink haired,bright colored,cute,innocent,meek and shy girl in the city who uses heart and glitter magic as well as other abilities that go WAY beyond regular super powered heroes to fight non- frightening monsters (like monsters from precure like shadow-ish and cute-ish like monsters ) and uses adorable wands and yelling out cute attacks like”rainbow blast” or “shining hearts”

Personally I think after a battle with a huge monster and reader uses a powerful attack that leaves makes a huge pink explosion(which didn’t harm people in the area or who was close by but did damage buildings and nearby cars) that echoes throughout Gotham and around the world that catches the attention of both the batfam and every villain that are in or outside of Gotham and now everyone is trying to find out what had happened

And I think that the first people from the batfam to actually see you in your magical persona would be Dick,Jason, and even Bruce when out on patrol or on the rooftop and seeing you fight a non-scary shadow like creature and we left confused when you yelled out “rainbow love shot!” And with a swing of your magical wand pink light comes from your hand too and then the monster was gone and you ended up picking up something and quickly teleport away sensing that you were not alone and once you left they were shocked at what they just saw and heading back to the bat cave with the rest of the other batfam to see if there were any files about you but there was nothing since with your power you were able to not be recognized on the computer

And for the villains who have a real soft spot for reader (would not put reader in any harm and try to keep reader safe)I think it would be Harley,ivy, riddler,two-face and penguin

To the much more bigger and sneaky villains like bane,catwoman,killer croc, Clayface I see them as the ones to watch the reader fight the monsters before jumping in to save you.

For Joker,Scarecrow,and Hugo strange they are the ones who reader in harms way but still have a soft spot for reader

Joker loves your colorful outfit and how adorable you are and how pink your hair is and like to hang out with you and catch up on things you are doing even if your held hostage( to which he is responsible for) or even in the middle of a battlefield

Scarecrow is very curious about you and what’s to know everything about you like what is your fear? How far would you go to save other? Will fear gas work on you?

Harley loves how powerful you are and how cute and innocent you look and would try and get you to do fun stuff with your magic

And to the villains who are not in Gotham (Talia, Ra, Deathstroke and Deadshot) they would have a soft spot reader too but in a different way

Talia and Ra would see reader as a great asset with her powerful magic and many abilities and that if they can train her then reader can benefit greatly for them

The only difference between the two is that Talia would see reader as someone that is too innocent and naive for the cruel world while Ra sees reader as someone that needs to be kept a close eye on until she knows to use her powers properly

Deathstroke would think reader is too kind and innocent for the world and needs a mentor to guide her

Deadshot would most likely see reader as a second daughter to him with her naivety and her determination to help other despite her meek and shy nature

I keep thinking about just, platonic yandere Batman who forces you to be his sidekick for whatever reason (you're a troublemaker and you need discipline, you're a metahuman and need training so you don't hurt someone, you just genuinely need a family or some shit and he Thinks This Will Be Good For You, maybe he's just straight up fucking selfish and is dragging you along for his emotional benefit alone) but you constantly just make it the utmost pain in the ass experience for him in rebellion

I could've sworn I read a fic that was self insert, reader insert, second person POV or similar. It had the MC (Main Character) ending up in an Alpha/Beta/Omega DCU world somehow. She makes friends with her boss at her new job, who is either a beta or also an omega. The A/B/O thing comes as a surprise to her later.

She meets Deathstroke or Deadshot in a bar while she's reading, and they approach her eventually. (I think she visits multiple times) I think it's a ship between MC and multiple people, a reverse harem situation maybe. It also might've been Yandere but I don't know about that. I do know it was incomplete.

Thoughts on: the Yandere Batboys finally having a willing darling that actually genuinely loves not only them, but their family. Like a super sweet darling. But then finding out someone like Deathstroke is secretly trying to manipulate them/talking to them now?? Maybe even trying to take them away?? I dream like this and now I can’t get it out of my head- I just imagine someone as smart and as manipulative as Deathstroke of all people actually having a chance to fight the Batfamily..

Highly interesting detail.

After all, we are talking about the Wayne's, they were created as masters of manipulation and investigation. Batman and the whole Bat-family is, after all, from the beginning, a group of detectives who later became heroes or vigilantes.

A detail that, personally, many (including me) tend to forget because of all the action that goes into each of their cases.

So, manipulation and yandere… that goes hand in hand. No doubt about it.

I feel that, after so much time with the family, the SO is, sadly, fucked in the head.

What looks like good intentions are not, what doesn't look like good intentions is actually genuine concern. I would argue that the SO should be in a constant toggle and turn from hypervigilance to denatured disinterest. Something that would ultimately have the family concerned at different levels depending on the current state of their SO.

I mean, if he's in his hypervigilant season, no matter how much he's bequeathed to love all of them, the SO won't take any love or caring comments as such; so all the men in the family will have to act like real Oscar-winning actors and make everything they do look as realistic or sloppy as possible. And, the same goes for when the SO is in his season of disinterest or emotional slump.

I think a bit more like a shelter animal in a high care shelter …. will have its good times, its bad times and its extreme care times… it would just go from one extreme to the other quite often.

Now, this can be bad for the family, definitely, but I don't think so bad when it comes to having to see about strangers or potential dangers.

But, do not get me wrong, SO still loves the family!! Really!

But their head would be a little twisted after all their atemps to scape and that kind of suff. 

Case in point:

Bruce and his kids clearly hate it when their SO overthinks too much about the biscuits they've gotten him from the street; it hurts them a little to see the way their SO eats them and inspects them every so often or chews them to near mush and then pulls them out on a napkin. It hurts them because they know that SO, despite having accepted the biscuits, still thinks he's going to be drugged or something.

O They also worry when SO eats anything… literally anything that is put in front of him. Even when they could care less if the food itself has been pulled from the bottom of the fridge and has specks of mold on its packaging or peel. They even almost had to force themselves to vomit when they saw her nonchalantly eating one of the biscuits Tim had left on the kitchen counter…. a biscuit that had been left there for over a month and that no one had deigned to touch because it was next to his coffee cup (which had also been left behind).

Worse when they hypervigilate interaction with anyone other than themselves?

They feel a little less worried. Well, people are more driven by the concept of "Better a known evil than an unknown evil" anyway.

The only thing that eats away at them is when their OS is actually in total neglect mode. I mean, Damian once told them they could go hang out for as long as they wanted (sarcastically) and then they had to scour the entire mansion and surrounding gardens because their SO took it too literally.

And, when his SO is in a regular or healthier state, I think he would be cautious on a quiet level. He would only let himself be carried away by gossip that has a reason to be justifiable or reasonable. Beyond that I don't know how confident he is of the proposed arguments.

Sure, they'd get along well, and if DeathStroke has a sweet tongue and caramel words, I don't doubt he'd get on a cordial basis with SO, if he's been going along with the Yan Batfam for a while. If it was very early otdo, no doubt SO would actually try to escape with him, follow his words and doubts like a religion; but at this stage of the situation, where SO lives with the family and has so many traumas related to them and his failed escape attempts and manipulation, I think he would see that man more as a sad buffoon believing in his strength.

Even more so if it is from an enemy of his captor. Because, although it may not seem so, the enemy of your enemy is your friend is so unrealistic. The enemy of your enemy may be your colleague… but not your friend in this situation.

DeadStroke against Bruce might have an advantage, but against the whole family, I'm afraid not. Not unless you put a lot of SO on their side.

Thinking about how to make this more dramatic, and there are two people in dc lore that might make things interesting:

Of all the people in the world you could be dating, you’re dating Rose Wilson.

And Dick knows this because he found out you’re being stalked by Deathstroke.

Deathstroke, who wants his precious daughter to be happy. Deathstroke, who would do anything to make sure that her dates go well. Deathstroke, who is now stalking you because if something happened to his daughter’s date she’d be very upset.

And unfortunately, Slade had a wiretap on you for that conversation between you and Dick where he was making suggestions that implied his daughter was less than perfect.

Deathstroke is now aware of a problem, and he needs to fix it to ensure his daughter’s happiness. That problem is the existence of one Dick Grayson in your life.

Or just cut the middleman, and you’re dating Slade Wilson himself.

Because Slade would take immense joy in blocking Nightwing from what he wants.

Initially it probably started because Slade noticed Nightwings interest in you. Slade wanted to get closer to you as a way to poison your relationship and mess with Nightwing. Maybe he plans to kill you, just to make your vigilante upset.

But then he realizes that you’re… you. Slade begins to get obsessed.

And now you’ve got a Yandere Deathstroke on your hands.

Dick is 100% going to sabotage it. 

He had been so excited to spend the night with you – even if it is still entirely platonic. A movie with friendly snuggles was better than no movie and no snuggles, right? 

The snacks are classic theater popcorn, sour candies, chips, soda. The theater is your bedroom. A mountain of pillows and blankets are your recliners for the evening. Premium comfort. 

Following the plot of the movie goes out the window once your head drifts sleepily onto his shoulder halfway through the film. Dick tempts fate by reaching his arm around you. He feels jitters when you don’t protest, seemingly agreeable to the contact. You don’t even move once the movie credits start to play. 

It’s a good night so far. A great night.

Then you speak. 

“Oh!” you snap your head to him. Dick does the same, heart jumping with surprise. Snuggling had put him nearly in a tranquilized state. You sit up out of his grasp, and leave him cold and wanting. “You’re always talking about how I should get the house… Well, I forgot to say earlier, but I’m kind of seeing that cute pizza guy I told you about!” 

Dick just stares at you, a smile frozen on his face.

“Oh! That’s awesome!” he says. To his grief, you begin to tell him all about it. “Uh huh. Mm hmm.” he says to your gushing. It was lucky that you were so enamored with your daydreaming that you couldn’t notice his robotic nodding or the displeased glint of his eyes. Dick knew this day may come – you finding someone before he’s ready to pursue you. There are admittedly some things he enjoys about being your friend rather than your lover. Majority of it is feeling like he’s undercover, playing a cat-and-mouse game you aren’t even aware of. But that doesn’t mean you won’t feel attraction to someone else. So Dick has a plan.

The first order of business is making the target of your affection look as incapable as possible. That’s not hard. He is Dick Grayson. He is five-ten and 177 pounds of capable. Most people pale in comparison. He’ljust be a little suggestion, here and there.

“Oh, he’s not treating you to dinner? Well, fuck those stuffy, traditional roles, amirite?” 

“That’s where you had your first date? … He’s really thrifty.” 

“Wait, he volunteers re-socializing homeless abused puppies only once a week? I figured we all make time for it at least every weekday.”

He just needs to plant the seeds of doubt. Give you what people call, ‘the Ick.’ Once you break it off with that guy, surely, you’ll be feeling the temptation of bouncing to someone new. But who…?

That part’s the easy part. (Actually, it’s all pretty easy for him.) Dick will get you to notice just how great he is. He’s charming. And handsome. And rich. And flexible. He just needs to take you out to swim, or skating, or the gym, or the park – anything that would enable him to slide his hands across you. He can already imagine lengthening your arm, putting it gingerly in the right position. He can imagine the sweat beading on your temple. He can imagine your lip bite as you struggle to ignore his chest against your back as he stretches you out.

Dick relaxes, leaning back. He still offers vague commentary in the conversation, but his mind is racing with many other possibilities. Your body. His body. Together.

“But enough about that!” you say finally. “Let’s put on another movie.” Your brow raises cheekily. “Horror movie? And first one to scream owes the other twenty bucks?” 

“I’ll take that bet,” Dick hums. 

At your clear excitement, he feels his cheeks warm. He admires how the blue light of the TV screen reflects in your gorgeous eyes. Maybe he’ll let you win anyway, if only because he loves the look on your face when you do.

Hello again! Sorry about this but my friend and I were talking about what an yandere! Deathstroke would be like- thoughts??

No need to be sorry! I’m all about people requesting no matter how many times they do!!! I hope you don’t mind me doing this request first, I finally got some time to sit down and read after a hectic exam block and this one stuck out to me first, so I really wanted to do it ASAP!!

Honestly, I had to skim over some other fanfics and google his name AND THEN STILL I HAD NO CLUE WHO THIS PIECE OF DILF WAS! Until I saw something where he called night wing kid and it all rushed to me! How could I forget him! He was my guilty pleasure crush growing up!!!

This ended up getting a little long because of the scene I snuck in at the end (and yes I used a song from steven universe, I was listening to a slow dance playlist and it fit somehow with slade, also thinking of him watching steven universe is so cute!!) but I love it so- 

I will definitely write more for Deathstroke after this!!! I have so many ideas :D

✧Deathstroke or Slade Wilson is a semi-strict yandere in a way. He’s unbelievably lucid, he knows stealing you away and forcing you to stay with him is wrong, he’s a big bag scary villain so it’s obvious that you would try to kick and scream if your terrified of him. Though this makes his actions softer he does not tolerate you trying to pry and manipulate him. He has strict rules he expects you to follow because come on, he lets you scream profanities at him, and he understands your hesitance to eat anything, but he will not allow you to throw any food onto the floor and such like that.

✧He has bases galore, so he definitely is going to have you hidden in one with even his most close henchmen not knowing about you specifically but knowing that they need to make sure nobody goes in and nobody leaves. It’s not like Slade is going to give you any chances to escape tbh.

✧Slade definitely has his silent mercenary attitude with you, not really that intentional, he just doesn’t really know how to be ‘soft’ after his years of torturing and killing. Like, a man doesn’t get to his stature just willy-nilly, he’s a killing machine with muscles, brains and wit. Though compared to everyone else, your treated as soft as he can be. 

✧Don’t get it twisted he will put you in your place if you do anything wrong, he isn’t even opposed to snatching something out of your hand silently if you’re doing something his disapproves of, but he never yells at you and NEVER hurts you. 

✧On that note he would never try to do anything without your permission, away from the whole kidnapping part. The only reason why he kidnapped you in the first place was because he couldn’t risk making any sort of relationship with you in the outside world. People are always out to get him and therefore would target you, but he was itching to talk to you in any way, and after a particularly close call with a low life villain trying to square up to him, he knew he had to do anything to keep you safe. 

✧His military background does come up a lot when he’s strict, not too bad. No drop and give me twenty, but when he gives you THAT look… yea you stop whatever or do whatever he wants. (Dad/DILF vibes??)

✧Slade is such a dad and though he doesn’t realise it, it too also slips when he gets strict and even when he shows affection. At first you might not even realise when he is affectionate or gives you a lick of it but once you realise it, it’s kind of wholesome and cute? 

✧Head pats with a murmured praise appropriate with what you did, a pat on the back or shoulder or arm with a slight twitch of his lip if you squint. Once, you swear, you managed to catch him watching you with a raised brow with a small smile on his lips. 

✧Small silent gestures are also VERY big but not noticeable until you really look, food is always healthy and balanced but there’s not a lick of texture or ingrediencies you don’t like. The snack cupboard is always available, and he seems to leave out snacks you like just laying around while nodding to it when he passes by to make sure you know that you’re always allowed to have it. Books, pencils and sketchbooks are found on a shelf or in a cupboard, new but made to look like it was just coincidence that it was laying there. If you ever ask to use it or to have a snack he starts off the few times by saying something along the lines of;

“You’re allowed any food in the house without needing to ask.” 

Or  “You’re allowed to anything you find.” With a silent line of ‘but nothing that you could use to escape or hurt me.’

✧But after saying that a few times, if you keep asking just because your anxious or not sure he will give you a silent nod. 

✧He knows how to hack and code so letting you have a game console is a luxury you will have, as well as a nice flat screen TV. If he feels like your glued to them and you keep putting off eating and sleeping for them then he will take them away silently and push you to do something else.

✧Slade loves music but he himself doesn’t even know it, until you’re exploring the small apartment like base he has you in, and find an old half broken record player but you can’t seem to find any vinyls. When Slade comes home after work and is starting to undo his tie and peel away his suit jacket, you curiously start making conversation about the old thing. His eyes scan over it as he walks to the bedroom to take a shower and says that he forgot it was even there, he had gotten it from someone he can’t remember though he does remember it being in one of his cars for a while before he got fussed enough to dump it at this hide out when he was ‘visiting’ and let it fade out of his mind. 

After his shower you both talk about its condition over dinner and when the night winds down and he has a glass of whiskey on the rocks in his off hand while he’s leisurely sitting on a plush chair, you hint that you want to try and fix it. Hearing this he just takes a sip while assessing the damage of the broken thing, not dusty anymore as you had wiped it down, on the coffee table before he hums. A few minutes pass of you both drinking your beverage, yours a warm drink instead of alcohol, when he finally gets up and properly looks at the record player. He pries some broken pieces lightly with the tip of his fingers before giving a silent nod. When your face breaks out in a smile, he says it’s time for both of you to hit the sack. 

The next morning when you wake up, Slade has some breakfast on the stove and you both mummer pleasantries before devouring it. When you get to the lounge room though, you find a toolbox that should have enough to fix the record player, Slade comes in shortly after and doesn’t say anything about it and just talks about how he has to get ready for work. 

Now this can end in three ways; 

One- You successfully fix it without any help and some elbow grease

Two- You try and fail, you get frustrated and at the end fix it with pure spite.

Or 

Three- You try and fail, before trying some more and failing again. Slade will fix something behind your back and guide you in the right direction behind your back and then suddenly you have fixed it! (Even though you have a suspicion he helped)

In every way slade will have the same reaction, he will give you a head pat with a “Good Job” before doing a once over of your work and humming satisfied to himself a few times to tell you that it’s all good. You’re so happy that you fixed it that it doesn’t even pass by in your mind that there’s no vinyl to play when you go down to sleep that night, it only pops by in your mind the next day after Slade leaves early that morning and your stuck staring at it. 

Though that night when Slade comes home in a plain outfit (he always changes out of his Deathstroke armour before coming to the house and washes the blood off his skin quickly if he’s been killing) and you exchange greetings you both don’t talk about it, at dinner you both don’t talk about it either and also when you both settle into the routine of sitting in the lounge with your respecting drinks in your hands and that day you choose to read a book and sit in comfortable silence. You don’t need to pester him more about the record player, you think to give him a break but when you awake with no Slade in the house again two days in a row and you go to the lounge to watch TV with the breakfast he made for you, there’s a flat paper brown bag next to the record player. Breakfast now thrown out of your mind; you leave it on the table to get cold as you slowly open the brown bag to reveal a large new black vinyl. The smell of cardboard wafts as you bring the vinyl up to your nose to take a quick sniff, thinking it would’ve smelled like plastic instead but being pleasantly surprised, it smells something akin to an old book. There’s no note and no name on what the song is but you plug in the record player anyways and get ready to play it, there’s a few seconds of static and you don’t realise your holding your breath until the soft sound of a piano followed by a few other instruments filling the room makes you release it.

Surprisingly it’s not an old song, which really shouldn’t be that surprising, but its jazzy and it does have a soft vibe and it’s slightly muffled to make it sound cosy.

You sit there for a bit, finally getting comfy on the couch and placing the plate on your lap to eat the now cold breakfast, while listening to the song over and over. 

Slade had some work that needed to be done, so he had left early in the morning the past two days as well has coming home late last night so he thought to come home early on this day, just as the sun started setting to shine the world with soft hues of yellow and orange. 

What he didn’t think he would see was his darling swaying her body lightly to the song softly playing in the background, she look so ethereal with her hair slightly messy and her pyjama’s slightly crumpled, because who really wants to get dressed up every day to sit around the house?, with the hues of orange and yellow bouncing of their (S/C) skin and face, accentuating their features like their nose and cheeks.

He’s so taken back that the song doesn’t even register in his head until (Y/N) starts humming along. 

“I always thought I might be bad,

Now I'm sure that it's true, 

‘Cause I think you're so good,

And I'm nothing like you”

And when she starts actually singing, Slade falls even harder for her which he previously thought was impossible. 

“Look at you go, 

I just adore you, 

I wish that I knew,

What makes you think I’m so special…” 

Her voice annunciating the words perfectly, the letters practically rolling off her tongue like she knew all the words by heart makes her sound angelic. 

Slade knows that (Y/N) doesn’t adore him, he’s not delusional, he kidnapped her and keeps her without her will and he’s a fucking villain, but the last line felt like an actual question that was in her soul and the way she trailed off while looking off into the distance spurs him into action. He doesn’t know the words and can barely understand the instrumental, but he thinks he knows the rest goes roughly. 

The sound of his deep humming tangles in with (Y/N)’s and the record players startling her, but Slade doesn’t stop humming as he pushes off the door way and walks over to them slowly. 

“If I could begin to do,

Something right by you, 

I would do anything,

I would even learn to love” 

He clearly motions to hug her so encase she doesn’t want to she can push away, but she just lets him and when his body locks in place with (Y/N)’s like a puzzle, Slade feels all his worries wash away and it feels like he can finally breathe for once in his life. 

“When I see the way you look, 

Shaken by how long it took, 

I could do about anything,

I could even learn to love like you”

Slade starts rocking their body together slowly and (Y/N) can feel his chest rumble with his hums that start to loll them into relaxing into him. 

“Love like you,

Love me like you.”

When the vinyl ends abruptly with some scratching sounds, the pair just stay there a little longer. This is the first time they had hugged or done anything of the sorts, usually it was only shoulder or head pats, but Slade makes a mental screenshot of this moment. Just two lovers slow dancing to a record player. 

After this, Slade leaves his laptop on a page of vinyls for (Y/N) to pick a few while he calls out to her that he’s taking a shower in the meanwhile and he even pops home some days with a new vinyl out of the blue. 

Safe to say, they both end up having a huge vinyl collection of all types of songs that they cherish.
